Cyanotype to textile: creating wearable art

In this 2 day class, you will learn the entire process necessary to create successful fabric photographs. Students will explore the sun printing process in relation to cyanotypes as well as using a UV printing method. Patterns, stencils, masking and creating digital negatives for cyanotype are all topics that will be covered, as well as the opportunity to mix and apply chemistry to your own fabric or textiles.

Any previous digital negatives,
3 garments or pieces of fabric* (not to exceed 13 x 19)

*The fabric should be natural, not synthetic, A 50/50 blend does work, however the image will be much lighter and not as detailed. Fabrics like cotton, linen, silk, bamboo, hemp, and muslin all are options and would all have a different take to the chemical composition of the cyanotype.  Fabric should either be pastel or lighter colors.
