PHOTOGRAPHING WITH ARTIFICIAL LIGHT
This is a 4-session, hands-on, workshop in which the student will learn the basic principles of applied (artificial) light, and come away with the satisfaction that by the artful manipulation of light they will enhance their own visual imagination.The workshop will be held in RayKo's own full sized studio and will cover the use of single, multiple lights, color, use of highlight and shadow to create dimension, illuminating the background, different types of light modifiers, as well as the importance of "keeping light simple". In addition we will explore the use and safety of "electronic flash" (strobe lights), and their unique applications to contemporary photography.

PRE-REQ: An understanding of one's own digital camera, it's ISO, shutter speeds, aperture, focal length, etc.
1.) A digital camera that has a "sync" port that will accommodate an off-camera flash. (this feature is usually standard on most mid and even lower range digital cameras).
2.) A cell phone or point-and-shoot camera to take "visual notes" of the lectures and demonstrations.
3.) A book on lighting (optional) “Light, Science & Magic” (doesn't have to be a "current" edition).
