ZINE MAKING WORKSHOP
How can we deviate from our routine? How can we mine our everyday conversations? This Zine-Making Workshop will be an intensive class that focuses on the art of zine making. The course will introduce students to collective storytelling and techniques used in creating hand-made books and publications. Students will gain new skills such as: observation, collaboration, critical thinking, organizing, forming questions, and investigating, as well as proficiency with: bookmaking, drawing, and visual storytelling. The class will involve field trips that require walking, scavenger hunts, experimental drawings, eavesdropping, and surveying. Our studio days will consist of bookmaking, discussion, collage, annotating, photocopying, and photo-sequencing.
